Jan 15, 2015· These terms are derived from how the viscosity is measured. When people talk about viscosity, they are talking about one of two things: kinematic viscosity or dynamic viscosity. It's not easy to find a lot of information on the differences between dynamic and kinematic viscosity. This is my attempt to bring clarity to these two principal concepts.
Chat OnlineKinematic Viscosity Definition: Dynamic viscosity divided by the density of the liquid; this gives a quantity which depends only on the type of the liquid, independent of its concentration or density. The quotient has units length squared divided by time. CONVERSION CALCULATORS Convert between Different Units of Measurement

Chat OnlineThe viscosity of a fluid is a measure of its resistance to deformation at a given rate. For liquids, it corresponds to the informal concept of "thickness": for example, syrup has a higher viscosity than water. Viscosity can be conceptualized as quantifying the internal frictional force that arises between adjacent layers of fluid that are in relative motion.

Chat OnlineKinematic viscosity measures the comparative rate at which a liquid or gas flows. Dynamic viscosity measures a gas's or liquid's resistance to flow as force is applied to it. You must know both the kinematic and dynamic viscosity of a gas or liquid to calculate its density.
Chat OnlineHowever, due to the viscosity values of most common fluids, square centimeters per second (cm 2 /s) is used more often. Note that 1 cm 2 /s is equivalent to 100 cSt. In Table 2, we present most common units for viscosity and the conversion factors between them. Table 2. Conversion between common viscosity …

Chat OnlineWhat is Dynamic Viscosity? The dynamic (absolute) viscosity is the liquid's resistance to flow. A dynamic viscosity unit is to measure how thick the fluid is. For example, the water is thin so it's low viscous (at 20C, 1.0020 centipoise). Oil, fuel, gas are thick, so they have high viscosity …
